it never rains, but pours

today is a sad, sad day. i don't think any amount of words can express my melancholy now. disappointment, like an angry dart spears right into my eye, and into my heart, my soul. they say ," when you're down, it never rains, but it pours". now i understand. the last time i was this sad because of a soccer game was back in 1999, when man utd lost to chelsea 0-5. i remember then, i was in primary school. and in the morning, i was doing gate duty(cause i was a prefect), and as i saw all my classmates coming into school, in some i could see the same sad expressions, in others, i could see joy, pure evil joy. i remember asking each one as they entered the school whether they had watched the match. there was no comfort. i was to be miserable for weeks. today, man utd lost 4-1 to boro. and while it was a five goal margin, i have to say i'm even more disappointed with the team like last time. i've said it before and i'll say it again. freaking 4-3-3 does not work for man utd. look at the amount of wingers you have; giggs, ronaldo, park, o'shea, fletcher, richardson and even convettees like rooney or scholes. we seriously need keane and giggs back. more so, we need the stable 4-4-2 formation back. if nistelrooy and rooney don't keep the goals coming, we'll be in dire need to solskjaer's services. then in the summer, we'll have to buy more midfielders. seriously, man utd wasn't man utd today. by the 75th minute, i just wanted to kick, shout, curse, smash, tear(both pronouciations) and pray, that boro would not score a 5th goal. ronaldo's goal in the last minute was unnecessary, and in my opinion, it would have been better if he didn't score. now, man utd will forever remember that their 1000th goal was scored in a match they lost.
moving on, i hope this will be a lesson for the lads. i sincerely hope ferguson gives them a hard lashing, whipping them to wake up from mediocrity. chelsea's next week. i believe in my team. man utd will be ready for them. and trust me, you never write manchester united off in the premiership.
on a side note, my well wishes goes to George Best and this family.
