Set fire to the third bar

Last night was the third time in the past week I dreamt of Sarah and Ryan. This time, Brian was in it as well.
It’s all so hazy right now, but from what I can remember, Brian was supposed to drive me all the way to Melbourne to look for Sarah and Ryan.
Then suddenly, I was on the phone with Sarah, and I was telling her that I would be making the trip down pretty soon.
(At this point the haze is suffocating)
I can’t really remember much after that, but a dim bedroom full of used clothes keeps popping up in my mind, accompanied with a nagging feeling of the need for urgent packing.

On a related issue, isn’t it funny how the more you try to recall your dream, the harder it is to actually do so?

Alvyn's Birthday

I heart my Mac.

Mussolini, I bid you adieu

oh and yea, on a totally separate issue,

i'm pissed off at myself for trying to believe that you were a good friend.

enough.

p.s. Alvyn and Kelvin and Wei Kee!! i'm thinking about buying the "eyewitness guide to europe" but it costs $60!!! wanna share? haha

Which was the dream?

Last morning (Saturday morning), i dreamt of Sarah and Ryan again. This time we were in some sort of holding area, but it was weird cuz it had more of a ballroom ambience. So anyway i was fixing some funiture or painting frame for them (i think..), and suddenly, Sarah said that they had to go. And I was like what???
So anyway i rushed out after them, but when i got out i couldn't see them anymore..

Sarah and Ryan, stay out of my dreams!!!! haha nah kidding kidding. can we please have a decent conversation next time in my dreams, maybe throw in a little clubbing ! haha...Ryan, maybe some more 151s? haha

Come back soon!!!

The beautiful game

Alright guys, something I haven’t done in a long time- soccer ramblings. (Ok Kelv and Mich, I think you can stop reading now.)

1) England lost to Holland yesterday on penalties in the U-21 (strangely reminds me of the German U-boats in World War 2. How ironic) Championships. So, yet again the penalty curse falls upon the young lads of the three lions. When will it be lifted? Seems like it even extends to the youth squad as well. I was thinking (oh wow) about it for some time, and I realised that the shaping, dynamics and fortunes of the English squad are very much like that of Manchester United’s.
• Both suck at penalties. (After Dennis Irwin and Roy Keane left Man Utd)
• Both suck at knock out competitions. (Champions League, World Cup, enough said)
• Rock at everything else.
• Both have to, HAVE TO, play 4-4-2, or die miserably.

2) You can’t have such an influential player of the England Squad (not to mention, ex-captain) like David Beckham playing in some weird ass capitalist club far, far away from the arenas of Europe, on club level. I would rather him continue to play in Real Madrid than in MLS Galaxy whatever. At least Spain’s still in the scene, if you get my drift (at this point in time, the song from Tokyo Drift comes into my head, and for some spastic reason, Geylang). But of course, the ideal situation would be him returning to EPL, although I don’t think we’ll see him back at Old Trafford. Probably Newcastle, or Sunderland (where Roy Keane is doing wonders as a manager, and probably wants to buy the whole Manchester United squad eventually), or maybe even Boro.

3) Ole Gunner Solskjaer is still the best player in the world. (Full page spread in the New Paper today!!)

4) I have no idea how Sir Alex is gonna fit all the new signings into the squad. Well okay, he did mention that Anderson and Nani will start off in the youth squad first, but what about the Hargreaves? And now they’re in talks for Eidur Gudjohnsen (I honestly didn’t know how to spell his name so after 8 failed attempts I went to look it up on soccernet) and Fabio Quagliarella! And we haven’t even started talking about Mr Invaluable, Louis Saha (who…does nothing), Solskjaer (refer to point 3), Alan Smith. And the midfielders cum strikers, Ronaldo, Giggs, Scholes, Carrick, Park. Ok seriously, I hope it doesn’t become a crop rotation, like what Benitez did (no matter how you argue, you can’t possibly believe that that brought him to the Champions League Finals, can you now?). If I had it my way, I would have stopped at Hargreaves, and continue to work on the current squad. But who am I, definetely no Sir Alex Ferguson.

5) Gabriel Heinze (Manchester United defender) is the hottest guy in the EPL right now. Notice I said EPL, because I know that 2907594 fans will raid my blog, protesting that Kaka is the hottest footballer alive. Well, yes okay Kaka is hot too. Anyway, for those of you who do not know how Heinze looks like, think of the guy in ‘300’ with the patched eye. Hot right? If he leaves Man Utd for Barcelona, I’ll be very sad.

6) Am I the only person who notices that there are SO MANY similarities between Cristiano Ronaldo and David Beckham!?
• Both wore the number 7 in Man Utd.
• Both became hated by the English faithful after two respective World Cups.
• Both are the most commercialised and media and sponser friendly players in the Man Utd Squad.
• Yes, the media loves them!
• Beckham reached the climax of his career after the disappointment at the 98 World Cup. So did Ronaldo, after the retarded wink at the 06 World Cup.
• For Beckham, it all went downhill from the time of the hairdryer treatment from Sir Alex, leading towards the flying boot and so on so forth. So for Ronaldo, “we shall see if power change purpose, what our seemers be.” (Go on, call me a freak for remembering Shakespeare, “I know my price, I am worth no worse a place.”)
• Beckham shaved his head. Ronaldo cut off the yellow shit hanging from his hair.

7) Last but not least, Manchester United will win the treble next season.

The Tennis Court Oath

On a separate (and slightly more drastic and negative) note, I think I spend too much time on people who just don't give a shit.
I think it's time to pay more attention to people who do.

enough.

Sarah and Ryan

Sarah and Ryan have left :(

These 7 months have passed by so quickly.
From the first time we met since they came back (The Christmas Party/Gig, where i sung like a horse on steroids, and played the bass guitar like jimmy hendrix when he was still in his mother's womb. As the more perceptive of you might realise, it sucked!!! but kudos to Sarah, Ryan and Debbie for staying THAT long. Honestly, i actually thought it'd be the last time i would ever see them..word, yo.)

to Butter Factory ( it was a sorry, sorry night for the club and the organiser of that party...but we had fun! esp Candice...wait..definitely Candice. oh yea and who could forget that we almost got killed by this young punk driver who simply wanted to show off his non-existent driving skills? Nice ride, though.)

to cafe del mar, where the most important point was that we saw Utt! and slightly more important than the invention of bread, was that i got to shake Utt's hand!! (for the full story, pls read the June 10th post) Nah, i'm kidding. It was an awesome day where i got to spend a relaxing time with all of them. It definitely ranks as one of the most relaxing days in the past two years...

to One Night Stand, where it marked the beginning of the end for our crew. Candice was leaving first, followed by Sarah and Ryan, and finally Brian in August. That night marked the last time the 5 of us could hang out for a long long time to come. Sarah's back in Dec, along with Debbie(yay!!). Ryan's coming back in Jan (yay!), but brian's leaving in august, so yea...you get the picture. anyway for all you OC and Laguna Beach fans out there, Brian's going there to study...

to the airport today, where i was feeling really sad....ok emo.... and yeah, i will really miss the two of them for the next 5 months or so..
they have given me so much, not necessarily tangible items, but i guess what Sarah and Ryan have given me is hope and inspiration, since i view them as the most perfect couple i know. I've learnt alot from Ryan by seeing how he treats Sarah (in a good way, of course!), and i really look up to him in that aspect. Girls, this guy is the perfect boyfriend i tell you, but sorry, he's taken! Hold on to him, Sarah! And i see how Sarah reciprocates all Ryan gives to her, it's bliss. So yeah i guess what i'm trying to say is that the two of them give me hope that true love actually does exist.

Here's to 2 of the most sincere and best friends one can ever find.
Sarah and Ryan,
this one's for you..

Hands down, these are the best 7 months i can ever remember.

They come back.

I'm so afriad to go to sleep tonight.

Last night i dreamt of Sarah and Ryan, and we were at City Hall Mrt. And you know how City Hall has like 2 levels of platforms, and 2 sets of escalators where one goes directly to the bottom while the other one goes to the 2nd level? yeah, i was on the one going directly to the bottom, and halfway down on the 2nd level, i saw Sarah and Ryan and we exchanged:

me: hey guys, where are you off to?
Sarah: Oh we're on our way back already.
me: Back?
Sarah: yeah, we're going back.

Then i panicked and started to cry. Tried to run towards them but i couldn't.

Woke up in tears. Not much, but heavy ones.

Separated at Birth?

Is this the last train home?

These are some of the few pictures we took at DXO/One Night Stand last night with Sarah, Ryan, Brian, Candice, and Brian's friend, Sarah.

You know that empty feeling you get when you know you won't get to hang out as much as you would like with someone really close to you? Yeah...

p.s. Sarah! I have the other pictures burned into a cd. I'll pass them to you on wednesday! (:

What Sarah said..

I am going to miss Sarah and Ryan so, so much.

Tears stream down your face

Week ??? of 2007

Last week was simply awesome! Lovely, lovely, lovely. Here's a breakdown for those of you who care and will read beyond this point. (namely Kelvin, Alvyn, Wei Kee, Sarah, Mich, possibly Jint)

Monday

It seemed as if the week would never end. Was a real slow start. Nonetheless a sense of anticipation and excitement at the events to come during the week!

Tuesday

Refer above.

Wednesday

Went to Chinatown for dinner with Sarah, Ryan, Brian, and Candice. Well, actually we were supposed to go to Chinatown, but in the end we ended up at Maxwell Road. Food there's not that bad, well, at least the hokkien mee. Before we reached Maxwell, we were actually supposed to make this u turn, but we missed it, and ended up making a 20 minute de tour. Like we passed this parking lot twice, went pass Chinatown Point (is that what it's called?) like a freaking 3 times and so on so forth, until we got on our way. Haha Brian's driving is hilarious and Ryan never fails to amuse us. It was also the day when i found out that deep down inside Sarah, is a full-fledged Ah Lian waiting to come out! haha even Ryan said that if Sarah had stayed in Singapore, she would have been an Ah Lian. Then Candice and Sarah started doing weird ass ah lian inpersonations at the back of the car. Thank God i wasn't sitting in the middle. haha. Sarah, Ryan and Brian went to Zouk thereafter, and Candice and I went home. It was such a good time, had not seen the 4 of them in a long while.

Thursday

Mel's birthday!!! Went to Brewerkz for the party! A surprise party!! Ok here's the background. Her boyfriend, Ben, and her have the same birthday, which is the 8th of June. So yea Mel went to plan this whole surprise birthday party for Ben by inviting his secondary school classmates, while at the same time also inviting her friends to celebrate her birthday (ok am i making sense?!?). So there was like a whole big group of us there at Brewerkz..i think around 25? Yeah..
So anyway, at 7pm, Alvin Liong and I (along with all of Mel's friends and Ben's friends) were at Brewerkz waiting for Mel and Ben to arrive. She was supposed to lead him into the place and we'd all shout 'surprise!!', or something like that.
Well at 7.40pm, Mel called and said that she and Ben were walking towards the place already. So she told me to come out to lead the 2 of them in. The conversation outside brewerkz went like this :

Me: Hey Ben! Hey Mel! Happy Birthday!!
The 2 of them: Thanks!
Me: oh hey, i left the present inside, you guys wanna follow me in to get it?
Ben: Yea sure. Oh so do you and your platoon friends meet very often?
Me: (Taking 0.0002432 seconds to comprehend) Oh no not really, they don't get to book out often, so this is actually a pretty rare oppotunity.
Ben: Ah..I see. Well, have you tried the burgers here?!
*Thereafter we launched into a conversation about the size of the burgers*

This was the response (the surprise!!) from Ben's friends when he finally saw them there.

Ben's friends : uh uh hey hi...wassup man...sur uh uh

hilarious.

Saw a different side of Mel that night. I wish Ben and her the best. An awesome couple.

Friday (are you guys still here?!)

Went for a crab dinner with some of the people in the office. Dinesh couldn't make it so that sucked quite a bit. I only found the chilli crab nice, the rest were alright, i guess, but nothing spectacular. Ok finish.

Saturday

Went to Cafe Del Mar with Sarah, Ryan, Brian and Cheryl. Friggin awesome day. Took the new monorail for the first time. It was actually quite funny how it went. Sarah, Ryan and Brian went ahead first to book seats at the cafe, while i waited for Cheryl to come. So anyway the 2 of us were inside the monorail, and you know how the old monorail had SO MANY stops?! yeah so when Sarah told me to get off at the last stop, i had the impression that it would take a while. So there came a time when the monorail stopped at this particular place, and i was like, "hmm this still seems quite far, maybe the monorail will make a turn." So i told Cheryl, "hey i think we should wait and get off at the next stop". and in the next few seconds, i realised that directly in front of the train was the sea. hmm. and unless the tracks extended over the ocean. hmm. so i was like, "Shit, Cheryl i think we get off here..".
After Cheryl confirmed with some random guy if that was the stop, she told me
"see that's the problem with you guys, you never ask for directions!"
yeah this is the same girl that scolded me before cuz i spelt wierd for weird. yeah..

anyways, once we got there, i realised that the place was really, really beautiful. Quite a refreshing comfort on the eyes. so while the 2 girls went to tan, the 3 guys went to the bar. and for the first time in my life, i drank shots. ok not that many, just 2. Peer pressure haha. well anyway, it was 'southern comfort' and '151' and for the latter, according to Sarah, it's named as such because it's like 1.51% non-alchocol haha! Even when Ryan ordered 151 for the waiter dude, he was looked at the scorching sun, and remarked, "this early in the day?!?!" haha
AND WE MET UTT!!!
Ryan and Brian bought us there to where Utt was, and Ryan was like "oh hey, this is Shane". and then Utt extended his hand, and said "Hi, I'm Utt."
and i was gushing like a schoolgirl, "Hi, Shane."
OoOOo he's so charming and friendly. But yeah, he looks bigger on screen.

I have pictures, but i guess it'd be kinda crossing boudaries if i put them here, so yeah.

It was so awesome to spend the entire day with them, especially since ALL OF THEM ARE LEAVING SOON!!
sigh.

Sunday

Bought the Canon Powershot TX-1. An investment for the 08 Euro Trip. It's friggin cool.

Alright, i thnk this is like the longest entry i've penned down in months.
Ciao Peeps.

ZARA kids

Guys....I need to shop!!!
It's been like a week plus since the GSS started and I'm not even on it yet!

I think it's time to call forth the league of Oxford Boys.

Nivea

I was looking through my posts the other day, and i realised two things.

1) There's no archive link.
2) I forgot to mention that Jade Seah is on the cover of Cleo, and i bought it.

In related news,
Jade Seah had a full page spread in Life! yesterday for her Nivea Endorsement.
Also to note is that my toilet now contains 2 Nivea Facial washes and 1 Nivea Deodorant.

In related toilet news, the lock of my toilet door is broken. My brother wrote a note there. It read "If unable to open door, use pliers."

The charge of the light brigade

All quiet on the Western Front.
