Keynesian, Adam Smith and Guy

this is an entire recorded conversation between keynesian and adam smith. oh and also that guy who created the philips curve. K(no not the multiplier for all you econs nerds), AS( no not aggregate supply) and guy(er..yea).

K: hey everyone. wow i'm really lucky to have gotten myself invited to such a cool college party as this. usually all the chicks look over me cuz i'm like really nerdy and stuff? i'd like to change my ridiculously thick glasses but my mom won't tell me. she says i'll be a bad boy if i do.

AS: yo dog, or was it yo cat, yo yo, i feel ya man, never could have fit in..da..hood..never got it lucky with da chicks..yo yo. man i gotta stop this, let's face it, we're just losers.

guy: yea. i'm such a loser that the only think i thought of doesn't actually work. you guys heard of the philips curve which tells the relation between inflation and unemployment?

K: Ssssshhhhh...not so loud. them chicks will hear us nerd talk.

AS: yea i heard about that sorry excuse for an economics theory. but yo yo, yo dog, i feel ya. my theory on comparative and absolute advantages only works when there are 29438029589 assumptions man. it don't work at all! can you dig it!?!?? hey am i doing this right?

K: to the bomb dog....erm...yo yo !

guy: oh man, AS! that sucks.

K: hey you know what, my theory replaced the classical theory, but now itt's been replaced by the neo-keynesian theory. the best thing is, they still make people study my theory in schools! i mean what's up with that? it's just plain stupid man!

K, AS and guy: i guess we're just real losers man.

at this point, a group of girls overhears them and kicks them out of the room. end.

Missing

you know i was thinking back to my choir days, and then i thought of choral festival 2002, and i remember Sheryl! yea even though i bet she doesn't remember me. anyway, where in the world are you?!?!? we like kept contact for a while into the begining of 2003 and then i lost my phone( but i'm gonna kick myself for this after i log off) and like lost all the numbers, and from then on, i haven't heard from you! haha, the probability (contrary to popular belief i do not take math) of her reading is is like 3943974327 to 1. so yea, but after all there's a chance. so Sheryl, who coincidentally is the only sheryl i know who spells it with an S which in my opinion is nicer, if you do read this, contact me! ok yay, this sounds like i'm some kind of desperate guy, yea desperate in a non- desperate sense. go figure.

Bad Habits

i think this song by michael tolcher called "Bad Habits" is really nice. enjoy! really speaks to me right now..

[Verse 1:]
I get all my bad habits watchin' you
It's true
Well, I wish that things were so different
Change it myself
It's what i'll do

[Chorus:]
But, I can't figure it out, yet
Just how to make it perfect for you
But, I'm closer than I was
Yesterday
Yeah, I'm closer than I was yesterday

[Verse 2:]
They say that life is for learning
Well, teach to me to live
While I'm here
Messages twisted and turning
What should I give
Make it clear

[Chorus:]
'Cause I can't figure it out, yeah
I can't figure it out, yet
Just how to make it perfect for you
But, I'm closer than I was
Yesterday
Yeah, I'm closer than I was yesterday

[Verse 3:]
Don't you know there's no difference
I'm not the same
I'm only here
To be with you
And now I'm closing the distance
Dropping the claim
Trading the past for something new
Something new

Why would you work without living
Spending your soul
What's it worth?
Well, I hope you make it to heaven
Waiting for life
Here on earth

[Chorus:]
'Cause I can't figure it out, yet
I can't figure it out, yet
No, I can't figure it out, yet
Just how to make it perfect for you
But, I'm closer than I was
Closer than I was
Yeah, I'm closer than I was
Yesterday
Yeah, I'm closer than I was
Yesterday

oh man!!! 'let's get it started' is overused!! it's everwhere and it's getting super irritating. stop it!! it's so 2004. move on!

U.G.L.Y. you ain't got no alibi

sound the alert!!!! there's an ugly singaporean on the loose, and i must say, how typical, how typical of us singaporeans, no i think it gets broader than that, how typical of this generation, this generation Y to always act as though they have the whole world in their heads, that they know everything, but everything they're saying is either stuff they're not sure about, simply exaggerating, or that they just have nothing to say and thus wanna cook something up, for what reason i know not of. there's this problem that us Generation Y faces- that is the uncanny fear of saying 3 words, "i don't know".
ok reference. go and check on sunday (19/6) newpaper and check out the columns. the one written by wendy, or more commonly known as xiaxue. ladies and gentlemen, she has sparked off a huge controversy by writing a world changing incident she experienced. she got cheated of $0.80 at a french cafe, which is so obviously delifrance, which by the way, IS NOT EVEN FRENCH!!! bimbo alert. she claims that this is a bigger issue than just the $0.80, it's about rights and all that crap. well, yes i agree with you, it is a bigger issue, that of ugly singaporeans. to all who read this entry, really, go and read her article. it's hilarious.

Dedicated to 04A1A

-Twelve Candles-

here I stand, in front of the door
that will lead me on to a new story
and leave everything behind in memories
of myriad a spectrum of images and musings
I hesitate, for I fear trodding on paths unknown
that are mythed to stomach all happiness
and past experiences, leaving everything
that i once held onto so dearly as treasures of mind
into oblivion, a hollow and empty soul
i fear forgetting those closest to me
extinguishing the flame of bond that held us
i fear forgetting, and forgetting to fear
for that would mean that i have already let go
the door stands menacingly, and beyond i know not what lies
by tradition and meaningless cliches
i am obligated to open this door
and continue on my path of life
the one usually taken more
and condemn me to an insignificant statistic
who is, forgotten.
no, it shall not be thus
for sometimes, to carry on with a path
lies not in reaching for diverging roads
but progressing forward by opening not the door
and walking back.

Persuasion---Heavy Stuff(at least I warned you)

'She had been forced into prudence in her youth, she learned romance as she grew older.'

I just watched Persuasion on DVD for the second time in my life. The first time occurred during a series of lit tutorials in school where I remembered myself spending a good deal of time sleeping and not paying attention to the plot for I really didn't know, and I dare say care, what was happening and just who was this Anne Elliot or Wentworth and so forth. I guess this mentality carried on me when I decided to watch the movie again today. I guess, certainly quite like Lady Russell on several occasions, I was quite wrong and had to content with my misjudgment and lack of good perception.

Actually, I didn't expect both Sir Walter and Lady Russell to be portrayed so relatively young. Nor did I remember William Walter being so attractive outwardly, or such the same case for Louisa Musgrove, which hardly discounts her for her stupidly, pardon me but I can find no other word, in her fall in Lyme. The settings of Lyme and Bath were beautiful, and I take pleasure in knowing that I have set foot on the actual set locations in bath, the most prominent being the roman baths where Jeremy and I actually(and rather unfortunately) drank the bath water, the taste of which still horridly lingers in my mouth even this very instant. Nonetheless, the architecture and the sea view of Bath and Lyme respectively are absolutely breathtaking and brilliant. I should most fancy someday in my retirement, or presumably sooner, taking long strolls along the streets of Bath and the seaside in Lyme.

The Victorian culture, especially that of the Musgroves, the Harvilles and the Crofts, exceptionally delighted me and took pity an interest in me. I simply adore the Victorian wear of the gentlemen, especially that of the navy. Moreover, I am rather fond of the dresses(excluding the corsets) that women of that age wore. It brings out the feminine side of them, and brings out the gentleness and sweetness of their appearance and character. Anne is very pretty in the movie, and it is no wonder if this is such the case, why Wentworth can't forget her, though I hardly think it is the looks rather than the intellect and the true love that Wentworth cares about.

Jane Austen is brilliant and an exceptional writer of her time, despite my earlier claims in the year that she was boring and too complicated. After reading the novel, and then proceeding on to the movie, I've come to realise that there is a certain attractiveness of Persuasion that's as much a mystery as to Sir Walter's failure to appreciate and acknowledge Anne's superior beauty.

27

i wrote this(original stuff!!) for council. here it goes. oh it's called "A Ballet Upon Sunset"

Let us be proud and hold our heads up high,
For we have trodden upon the path less taken,
Despite the hardships and pains, arise! Victory is nigh.
Never letting go of the bonds, no fellowships forsaken.

Heaven dotes upon us and the sun shines in her glory,
Upon us, the 27th Student Council, her children.
Always willing to learn, mistakes to perfect our story
which metamorphose into lengends, that will spend eternity with us.

In our hearts each individual recides; Warmth.
Nothing to compare, nothing to compete; Zenith.
With nothing to see us through the long lonely days; Hellish.
Save for memories to give us wings to days of old; Bliss.

Have faith! for our friendships will save us from purgatory.
That invisible strength of spirit will dry our tears.
Hand in hand we shall ascend to Polaris,
And brightly we shall be left to the end, into the sunset.

stupid.

If Nanyang JC gets changed to CCJC, it will prove only one thing- that the voice of students, translated to the young, is utterly useless and carries absolutely no weight at all. here we are talking about more than 2000 students opposing the change of name for the school, and if this plan should go ahead, what explanation have you for reject 2000 people straight to the face. furthermore, i haven't even included the alumni yet.
picture the situation. students refusing to cheer their own school name. students coming to school looking all depressed and sad. students taking A levels having a mental blow. school rankings thus go down. enough said.
if our petitions, which i think number in their thousands on the net and in hard copy, do not come through, what then have we to think of democracy, the right to vote and the voice of the youth. think about it.
